Indications

Valcyte is used to treat CMV retinitis (disease of the retina) in AIDS patients and to prevent infection in transplant patients.

Patients with active CMV retinitis give 900mg of the drug two p / day. The therapy lasts 21 days. During maintenance treatment take Valcyte one p / day - 900mg. Then if the disease gets worse, enhanced treatment is repeated.
