Sulperazon

Sulperazon - an antibiotic from the group of protected 3rd generation cephalosporins. Sulperazon

Pharmacological action Sulperazona

The structure Sulperazona includes two active ingredients - a semisynthetic antibiotic Cefoperazone and β-lactamase inhibitor Sulbactam. Cefoperazone detrimental effect on microorganisms sensitive to it, disrupting the synthesis of peptidoglycan of the cell wall during the active reproduction. Sulbactam in isolation does not have significant antibacterial activity, it is able to destroy only bacteria of the genus Neisseriaceae and Acinetobacter. However, it effectively connects the basic β-lactamases (enzymes protective microorganisms resistant to β-lactam antibiotics), blocking their destructive effect on Cefoperazone. Such protective properties against cefoperazone sulbactam proven research on bacteria resistant to ceftazidime. The combination of these two antibacterial agents gives a new, stronger drug.

Sulperazon destroys bacteria that are sensitive to ceftazidime, as a gram (different species of staphylococci and streptococci) and Gram-negative (Escherichia, Pseudomonas and Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, gonorrhea, atsinetobaktery, Proteus, Yersinia and others).

According to the instructions, Sulperazon able to destroy and anaerobic bacteria (Bacteroides, Clostridium, and others.). As can be seen, it has a broad spectrum of action on different microorganisms.

Quite deeply studied pharmacodynamics of the drug. It is widely distributed in the body tissues, the concentration of drug in the serum depends on the amount of drug administered. Displayed Sulperazon, mostly kidneys, a little more - the bile into the intestinal lumen.

Product form

Sulperazon available in vials as a powder for solution for injection. One pack contains 1 g of ceftazidime and 1g sulbactam, dose calculation is conducted on ceftazidime.

Indications Sulperazona

Sulperazon, according to instructions, are used to treat infections caused by susceptible to the germs. It may be, for example, infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract and ENT (sinusitis, bronchitis, tracheitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, pleurisy, etc..), Urinary tract infections and kidney infections (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis), abdominal infection (peritonitis, cholecystitis), infections of skin and soft tissue (furunculosis, abscesses of the skin and subcutaneous tissue), bones and joints (osteomyelitis, arthritis), pelvic organs, meningitis and sepsis, in the case of gonorrhea.

Contraindications

According to the instructions, Sulperazon not be used if the patient has or is allergic to other antibiotics cephalosporin or penicillin (their chemical structure is very similar, and there may be cross-allergic reactions).

Use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible only when the intended benefits of the treatment is greater than the harm to the child.

Instructions for use Sulperazona

Sulperazon can be administered intravenously and intramuscularly. According to the instructions, Sulperazon used in a daily dose for adults 2 - 4 g, for children - a rate of 40-80 mg / kg. It is divided into two equal portions and injected 12 hours later.

To prepare a solution for intravenous use, the vial was added 6, 7 ml of solvent (0 9% saline solution, 5% glucose solution, sterile water for injection), and then the initial solution must be added to a volume of 20 ml. As an initial solution, because of incompatibility, Ringer's solution can not be applied in this case, a solution for infusion in stages: in the vial is diluted with one of these solutions, and then added to Ringer's solution to a concentration of sulbactam 5 mg / ml. Infusion duration from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Sulperazon vial

To prepare a solution for intramuscular injection, are used for the initial dissolution of the water for injection, followed by addition of 2% lidocaine. The total amount of the solvent to the vial should be 6, 7 ml, then the concentration of Cefoperazone / Sulbactam be 125 mg / 125 mg in 1 ml of 0 5% lidocaine.

In severe infections the daily dose Sulperazona can be increased to 8 g (4 g of ceftazidime and 4 g of sulbactam).

Duration of treatment is determined by a physician based on clinical and laboratory data. Sulperazon today - an antibiotic to treat severe infections requiring hospitalization.

During the course of treatment is necessary to periodically monitor liver and kidney function. You can not mix solutions Sulperazona and aminoglycosides because of their incompatibility. If during the treatment of drinking alcohol, it can be observed disulfiramopodobnyh effect.
