The drug is released in the form of a solution for intravenous infusion.
In 1 ml of human plasma contains proteins in an amount of 50 mg. Of these, about 95% takes immunoglobulin (Ig). Auxiliary components: sodium ions, water for injection, chlorine ions, dextrose monohydrate.
Pharmacological action Pentaglobin
The drug produces immunomodulatory effect.
According to the instructions Pentaglobin prescribed in the following cases:
- as replacement therapy in patients with severe secondary antibody deficiency syndrome (suppression of immune defense, immune deficiency), with immunodeficiency;
- treatment of bacterial infections in combination with antibiotics.
Pentaglobin on instructions contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, as well as increased sensitivity to human Ig, particularly at deficiency levels of IgA and the presence of antibodies against IgA.
According to the instructions Pentaglobin injected with the following rates:
- infants and neonates - 1, 7 ml per kg per hour;
- children and adults - 0, 4 ml per kg body weight per hour;
- adults - The first 100 ml introduced at 0, 4 ml per kg body weight per hour, then continuously introduced at a rate 0, 2 ml per kg body weight per hour until 15 ml per kg body weight during 72 hours.
Application Pentaglobin during pregnancy and breastfeeding

In the opinion of Pentaglobin can cause headache, vomiting, nausea, mild back pain, fever, allergic reactions, fever. In rare cases, there was a sudden drop in blood pressure, rarely - anaphylactic shock.
Also during the therapy were observed symptoms of immunoglobulins inherent aseptic meningitis, rarely - transient skin reactions, hemolytic anemia. These symptoms quickly disappeared after drug discontinuation. It is also possible the development of acute renal failure and an increase in serum creatinine concentration.

An overdose of the drug in people with impaired renal function and the elderly can lead to increased blood viscosity and fluid overload.

Application Pentaglobin may reduce the effectiveness of live vaccines against rubella, measles, chicken pox and mumps from six weeks to three months. It is therefore recommended not to vaccinate earlier than three months after the introduction of Pentaglobin instructions.
